Tamara's Visit

Hello. My name is Tamara, I am a 24 yr old dental hygienist in NJ. This past July, I came across the opportunity to visit Egypt with a friend and volunteer through the Littlest Lamb. Because of my profession, I decided it would be a great idea to teach the children about good oral health. Toothbrushes and tooth paste were donated from my job to be given to the children . All of the children were taught how to properly brush and how important it was to have a healthy mouth. It was so great to see that  they were very eager to learn and receive their new toothbrushes! Being able to travel to Egypt was an amazing experience in itself, however, being with the children in the care houses made my time there much more memorable then any trip to the pyramids could ever have done. The love and respect that these children possessed was incredible. Out of meeting all the different groups of children, they all seem to have one thing in common, their happiness and friendly smiles.

Showing friends and family all of my pictures, was just not enough to explain how touching it was to meet such lovely children. I hope that the kids enjoyed their experience with me as much as I did with them. I would like to thank the Littlest Lamb for the opportunity given to me and the memories I will forever keep. Lastly, I encourage anyone to volunteer their time or to donate what they can. Appreciation is very much present with these children and its an honorable feeling for yourself as well.
